We are always on the hunt for unique antique items that give our client's rooms that little something extra. Check back frequently as our collection tends to change with time.
Of course, we love mountain sports antiques. Antique and vintage skis, sleds, hiking sticks, tennis rackets and old golf clubs add a hint of fun to any mountain home.
But perhaps our very favorite mountain collectibles are Black Forest carved items. We adore old Black Forest frames, bear carvings and Swiss mountain inspired pieces. Black Forest items were carved in Brien Switzerland starting in the latter part of the 19th Century and are still being carved today. Older items are rare and highly collectible which explains why they are often difficult to find and expensive.
We also look for antique hickory and Adirondack furniture and accessories. Camp style is one of our favorite looks.
Another favorite is Tramp Art. We often have a small collection of tramp art frames on hand and we use them to feature 19th century engravings of mountain scenes, animal wildlife and wild flower and native tree botanicals.
California had a large plein air school at the turn of the century and on into the 20th century. Many old oils feature mountain scenes. Or if you're into European mountain style, we collect Swiss oils of mountains and chalets.
